I’ve been using TubeBuddy since 2018 and I have to say, it’s amazing at what all it does. Before using it, I was just “shooting in the dark” when doing SEO on my videos. Since using it, I have gotten over 1.5 million channel views and over 6,000 subscribers (at the time of writing this blog post). Here’s how you too can grow your YouTube Channel with TubeBuddy.
Best Practices Checklist
A great tool and resource for those of you (especially in the beginning) who don’t always remember the best practices before publishing a video. This checklist covers things such as: sharing to social media, tags/titles, end screens and cards, and a few more. It’s helpful for me because I often get in a hurry and overlook certain things. This tool reminds me of what I may have forgotten.
Thumbnail Creation Tool
This tool has been a friend of mine a few times. Sometimes I get in a hurry and forget to shoot a thumbnail for my video. This tool allows you to take a fairly high resolution image of a clip from your video, then add any texts, objects, or effects and create a custom thumbnail for your video. This tool is especially helpful for those of you who do not own a photo editing program like photoshop, or just are not good at doing so. It’s a super simple tool and it gets the job done.
This tool is SUPER valuable in that it will recommend tags for you that are relevant to your channel and your video topic. The tags even go as far as to tell you (or at least give you an idea) of how the tag will rank for you. This is shown by a number (the smaller the better). This helps you to find appropriate tags to help your overall SEO and search.
Of course there are many more great features TubeBuddy has to offer and with either tier, you get just a little bit more. Let’s talk about pricing for a moment.
TubeBuddy does offer a FREE tier with some limited options, but this will allow you to explore around the site and what they have to offer before you fully commit.
The next tier up is called the pro tier and averages around $9/month. For smaller channels, they have offered a discounted monthly price of that tier for only $4.50/month (a 50% discount), which is where I spent the majority of my first two years on the program.
In the pro tier you also get access to free use or discounts to other services such as: Epidemicsound (save $3/ month), FREE TubeBuddy Mobile ($2.99 a month unless you have a subscription), FREE YouTube graphics starter kit (normally $99), and a lot more.

TubeBuddy also offers an affiliate program to which I am proudly a part of. It’s a way to get rewarded for sharing the word of TubeBuddy if it is something you too enjoy using. I’ve been able to earn a little bit of extra income each money from referral links on my YouTube videos. It hasn’t been enough to quit my day job, but it has been enough to help me continue producing content online. If you want to check that out, head on over to the site and see for yourself.
Do you need TubeBuddy to be successful on YouTube? Simple answer is no, but the deeper answer is yes. TubeBuddy is just packed full of so many valuable resources to help you build your channel, it’s well worth even paying for the cheapest tier. There are other services out there such as Morningfame (also great) and VidIQ, but TubeBuddy is an official YouTube certified service. so you don’t have to worry about any problems with your channel getting in trouble with YouTube.
I suggest at least trying out either the free tier or a free trial of one of the other tiers and try it out for yourself. Give it about a month of uploading videos and see if you notice any more views, subscribers, or growth. I promise if you do things right and make quality content, it will help you grow over time!
- Full disclosure: I am a TubeBuddy affiliate, however not sponsored. If you do visit TubeBuddy with my provided links, I may receive a small commission at not cost to you.
